I am a highly qualified Spanish and French teacher with more than 30 years of experience working in schools. Tuition supports school students who would benefit from extra practice to iron out grammar issues, reinforce vocabulary and pronunciation, develop their confidence and exam technique or target that higher grade. I can also offer help with homework and revision, including revisiting topics taught at school. Tuition is also available for adults looking to start learning Spanish or French or improve their language if studying for A level or in order to be able to communicate effectively when spending time abroad. As a native English speaker with a B.A. Honours degree in Spanish and French, I know exactly how it feels to go on a language-learning journey. My teaching style is supportive and designed to give you the confidence to achieve your potential.
I have been having Spanish lessons with Jo and as a “Mature student” I was a little nervous as I wanted to learn “tourist Spanish” as I love Spain and holidays. Jo was so patient and identified what I wanted to achieve. I really enjoyed my lessons with Jo she is an excellent tutor. You’re never too old to learn and with Jo’s talent and encouragement she will help you attain your goal

Jo is a really good Spanish tutor. She really focuses on the areas of language that I don’t know and since she’s been tutoring me my Spanish has improved a lot. She’s taught me words and phrases to help me get higher grades in my GCSE. She’s patient and encouraging and checks that I know the material before we move on. I would highly recommend her as a Spanish tutor especially if you’re taking it at GCSE or A level. She’s been really helpful to me and I’ve learned a lot in a short time

We have repeatedly engaged Joanna for her translating skills and found her to be an excellent linguist. She is thorough, competent and dedicated. We would highly recommend her services

In just a few short weeks, Jo has transformed my daughter from giving up and not enjoying French at all, to confident and excited to learn more. The strategies for approaching the different exam questions that Jo has introduced my daughter to are invaluable and Jo's warmth and passion for languages shine through at all times
